NBC Sports Coverage Kickoffs Nov. 29 with Women’s Winternational Giant Slalom from Aspen and Continues Dec. 6 with Men’s Birds of Prey Downhill from Beaver Creek



NEW YORK AND LOS ANGELES – November 13, 2009 – In the lead-up to the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games next February, Bode Miller, Lindsey Vonn, Ted Ligety and the best skiers in the world will appear on NBC Sports and Universal Sports all winter long as the networks present coverage of the 2009-10 International Ski Federation (FIS) Alpine World Cup.  The season continues this weekend with the Men’s and Women’s World Cup stop in Levi, Finland.  Coverage on Universal Sports starts with the women’s slalom on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 10 a.m. ET, and continues Sunday with the men’s slalom at 10 a.m. ET.  There will be an encore presentation of each day’s races at 1 p.m. ET.

Universal Sports will offer coverage of the entire World Cup season while NBC Sports airs key events from Aspen and Beaver Creek. Former Canadian Ski Team member Todd Brooker and former U.S. Ski Team members Steve Porino, Christin Cooper and Doug Lewis will serve as Universal Sports’ on-air broadcast team for the season.

COVERAGE ON UNIVERSAL SPORTS:  Universal Sports, available in 56 million homes, will offer coverage of the entire alpine World Cup season on its 24-hour television network, with simulcast streaming available on UniversalSports.com.  Key events in the schedule include stops in Aspen and Beaver Creek, as well as Lake Louise, Val d’Isere, St. Moritz, Val Gardena, Adelboden, Cortina d’Ampezzo, Kitzbuhel, Schladming, Garmisch Partenkirchen, and Åre.  In addition, fans can visit the skiing channel on UniversalSports.com/skiing for updated schedules, news, video highlights, special features, photo galleries, sweepstakes and more.
